Macau national team of 11 players went to Malaysia recently to compete in the Rakan Muda/ Yonex-Sunrise Badminton Asia Junior Under-19 Championships 2007 from 15th to 22nd July at the Stadium Juara, Kuala Lumpur. The team participated in both mixed team & individual events. In the mixed team event, the team secured the second spot after Indonesia in the preliminary round-robin stage. In the individual events, Lam Chi Man managed to secure a place in the round of 16, best result ever from a Macau player in this championship.

The federation’s vice-chairman, Mr Wan Iat Wai was in Kuala Lumpur as a delegate for the BAC AGM took some time to be at the stadium to support the team. Coach Zhou Kejian was also pleased with the players’ performances as he sees significant improvement in their play.
